Pomegranate Vinegar

It's pretty much the end of pomegranate season here so this recipe for Pomegranate Vinegar, gives us a way of enjoying pomegranate throughout the year. It's pretty simple but takes about one to two weeks to fully mature.

Pomegranate Vinegar

1 pomegranate
2 cups white wine vinegar

Cut the pomegranate in half, collect the juice and seeds and place into a sealable glass container - a preserving jar is a perfect vessel. Top with white wine vinegar - do make sure you use a good quality vinegar.

Seal the jar and place in a sunny spot - a window sill will do nicely - and let it steep for one to two weeks.

When ready, strain the vinegar through muslin cloth and store in a sterilised glass bottle.

  2. What a nice idea! Pomegranate season will start soon here and I will try making this vinegar. Only recently did I make my first flavored vinegar and now I am ready for more. Thank you for contributing it to Weekend Herb Blogging.
